The Jean-Michel Coustea’s Ambassadors of the Environment programs allow you to hike through the Hawaiian rainforest, snorkel among Maui’s most beautiful coral reefs, and participate in underwater photography sessions. The program features new environmental and cultural education center with excursions led by experts! It is designed for you to learn about Hawaii’s unique ecosystems while you demonstrate your connection to the larger global scale.

Alaskan Glacier Cruises: Everyone goes on a cruise to the Caribbean but a cruise along the Alaskan coast on a glacier tour is unique and different. Cruises start in Vancouver and ends in Anchorage. You will go by the Glacier Bay National Park where you will see wildlife, gigantic glaciers and beautiful mountain scenery. The ideal time to go would be in May where the average high temperature is 61 degrees Fahrenheit.
Road Trip in the Himalayas: Drive from Tibet to Nepal for a once-in-a lifetime experience. Along the way you can check out the Dalai Lama's winter and summer home, stop by some ancient monasteries, and get a great view of Mt. Everest. This honeymoon idea would not be ideal for those who are prone to altitude sickness.


Costa Rican Fishing Adventure: Costa Rica has got it all. You can hike the nature trails at the Monteverde cloud forest, relax on the beach, and even windsurf at the Lake Arenal, which is at the base of an active volcano! In the Guanacaste province you can test your skills by chartering a boat and going deep-sea-fishing for a day.

Volcano Bike Ride: Head to Maui and for an amazing bike ride down the 10,000 ft. high Haleakala volcano. On the 38 mile ride down you'll be able to see old lava flows, wildlife, and incredible views of the island. The park is open 24 hours so head back to the summit at night and get blown away by gazing at the stars.

Hike the Ruins in Cambodia: This trip takes you to another world. Explore the 12th century ruins in Angkor Wat where you can see Hindu towers, temples, and sculptures. These ruins are located in the middle of the jungle in Cambodia. Hire a guide and check out this 60-squared mile ancient city.

Climb Mt. Fuji : Tokyo is the perfect place for a mix of urban excitement and Japanese culture. After exploring the city take a night hike to the summit of Mt. Fuji. If you take the Fujikyu bus to the 5th station on the mountain and start at midnight you'll get to the summit just in time to see the sunrise. This climb is not for the faint of heart.

Planning The Perfect Honeymoon

There are many different types and styles of honeymoons, so how do you choose the best fit for you and your partner. The key is deciding which options you want and what activities you can't wait to do, then planning the location around those activities is a breeze.

Mfuwe Lodge, Zambia, Africa where the elephants roam freely in the hotel lobby

Have you considered going on an exotic honeymoon? If you wish to have an unforgettable encounter with nature on your special celebration, we suggest Zambia, Africa. The gorgeous, untouched look of South Luangwa National Park is perfect for such a treat. Mfuwe Lodge overlooks oxbow lagoon, giving you and your partner a magical glimpse of Africa as it is, unspoilt by modern tourist attractions and modern civilizations. To maintain the lodge's tranquil setting none of our rooms are equipped with televisions, radios or telephones, how-ever we are in contact with the outside world via email, telephone and fax services which are available at reception.The lodge is 3km from the main gate of the South Luangwa National Park, and just a 45 minute transfer from Mfuwe International Airport.

There are 18 thatched chalets, all of which overlook one of the lodge's two lagoons, which attract abundant game activity during the day and at night. You will be sure to see animals like hippo, elephant, buffalo, leopard and lion make their way to the lagoons to drink as the watch in surrounding areas dries out in the hot seasons. Take a day safari to see all the sites, or a romantic night safari to get the African feel. You will be with an experienced guide who can answer all your questions and point out things you might otherwise miss. You may even choose to take an exciting walking safari to view or track animals on foot with armed scout as protection. Mfuwe Lodge is one of the few places in the South Luangwa National Park that stays open during the Green Season. During this time the landscape in the valley changes into a lush green environment that attracts Wild Dogs as well as many species of migrating African and European birds.

If you would like study the unique Zambian animals and plants you will see while on safari, the hotel provides a reference library containing more than 300 wildlife books and videos. However, the most exciting and eccentric view you can get is in the base camp in the center of the resort. If you visit Mfuwe Lodge during late November you can view wild elephants roam right through the building and interact with the staff at the reception desk. This 10 elephant herd is wild so the resort insists that guests have something between them and the herd, even though the animals have never harmed anyone. 

Why do these same 10 elephants return each year? Mfuwe Lodge happens to have been built next to a mango tree that one family of pachyderms have always visited when the fruit ripens. When they returned one year and found the luxury accommodation in the way, they simply walked through reception. ndy Hogg, 44, director at the Bushcamp Company that runs the Lodge, has lived in South Luangwa National Park since 1982. But in all his years of dealing with wild animals he has never seen such intimate interaction between man and beast. 'This is the only place in the world where elephants freely get so close to humans,' says the 44-year-old. 'The elephants start coming through base camp in late November of each year to eat the mangos from our trees. 'When they are ripe they come through and they stand about for four to six weeks coming back each day or second day to eat the mangos.'So we suggest if you're getting married in the fall, definitely check out Mfuwe Lodge. But make your reservations early because the resort fills up quickly because of the unique experience the elephants bring to the base camp, and the resort as a whole.
